At Chequered Flag Karting we take your safety very seriously. Therefore it is of the utmost importance that you are of good health and do not suffer any disability that would make it unsafe for you to drive. You must never be under the influence of drugs or alcohol when attempting to drive one of our karts. If any persons are believed to be under the influence you will be forbidden from driving and there will be no refund issued.
Please note, when booking, that due to our insurance policy, nobody between the ages of 10 and 16 can be on the track at the same time as anyone over the age of 16. Please contact us for further information.
If any drivers miss the pre-session briefing they will not be allowed to participate. Chequered Flag Karting reserve the right to refuse drivers to the race track and stop any sessions deemed to be unsafe and no refunds will be issued.
It is very important that you familiarise yourself with our warning flag system which is outlined below. A safety briefing will be shown before your race but it's a good idea to check these out before arriving for your race.
YELLOW FLAG
When this flag is waved by the marshals it means that an incident may have occurred on the track. You must slow down your kart to walking pace and proceed with caution. When an incident like this occurs we will also use our flashing yellow light system.
BLUE FLAG
When this flag is waved at you it means you are going too slow for the drivers behind you. At the earliest opportunity you must allow them to overtake you.
BLACK AND WHITE FLAG
This flag is waved as a warning to calm down. You might be driving dangerously and this is a friendly warning. If you continue to drive in this fashion after this warning we will have no option but to give you a black flag.
BLACK FLAG
This flag may be waved for two reasons. 1) You may have a fault with your kart, or, 2) You are driving recklessly/dangerously. In either case you must enter the pit lane immediately for further instruction from a marshall.
RED FLAG
A red flag means there has been a serious incident out on the track. ALL karts must come to an immediate halt if the red flag is issued. When an incident like this occurs we will also use our flashing red light system.
CHEQUERED FLAG
This signals the end of the race. All karts must safely enter the pit lane after completing their lap.
